. . . AND YET

People are still dying unnecessarily of Covid-19.  Texas is suffering from an historic cold spell and snowfall. There are wide-spread power outages. My sister and her son have spent more than 24 hours in an unheated house with outdoor temperatures in the teens. Texas houses are not built for this kind of weather. One young-adult grandson is seriously ill with severe chills and a prolonged fever. We're waiting for C-19 and flu test results. My husband and I had our second dose of the Moderna vaccine yesterday. Neither of us slept well last night. This morning Dad had trouble putting his arm into his sleeve. I felt slightly hazy and a little achy.  Today is cloudy and dull with chilly temperatures. and yet . . .  And yet, when I was out this morning, I noticed the daffodils had suddenly bloomed. Oxolas was thrown about like yellow sparkles. The cats found a bit of pale, intermittent sun for their mid-day nap.  I feel hopeful.
